Dear Friends,
We would like to present you with a special opportunity for you and/or your company to support a worthwhile organization and increase your visibility in our community. We are offering you the opportunity to support the Lyme Disease Awareness Walk: Spotlight on Lyme that will take place on September 13th, 2008 (rain date September 20, 2008) at Wells Beach in Wells, Maine.
The walk proceeds will be given to the beneficiary, the Lyme Disease Association, for their work with Lyme Disease research and education (see www.LymeDiseaseAssociation.org). We are passionate about this cause and raising awareness of the affects of Lyme Disease on people throughout Maine.
As you may know, Lyme Disease is a growing problem here in Maine. Lyme Disease is one of the most commonly reported infectious diseases in Maine, with an average of more than 200 cases reported annually from 2002 to 2004. (http://www.maine.gov/dhhs/boh)
Raising awareness about Lyme Disease in Maine is key to help Maine residents better understand what can be a very debilitating disease and help prevent the spread of Lyme Disease.
